2023 回響中國傳統藝術展演
活動概述 | Overview
On September 9, 2023, Echoes From China's second annual showcase, Melody of Dreams, took the stage in Toronto at the Sandra Faire and Ivan Fecan Theatre.
For a young, overseas non-profit arts organization, committing to a large-scale production every year — one that introduces Chinese traditional performing arts in their full breadth to audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds — is no small thing. But this vision is what Echoes was founded for, and we believe the effort is worth every challenge. Following several major stage appearances during Lunar New Year 2023 and six months of preparation, Melody of Dreams was ready to meet its audience.
2023年9月9日,回響的第二屆年度專場展演「如夢令」登上了多倫多的舞台。
對於一個年輕的海外非營利文化組織來說,堅持每年舉辦一場大型演出,把中國傳統的表演 藝術較為全面地介紹給不同年齡段、不同文化背景的觀眾,顯然不容易。但這是回響創辦之初的願景——我們相信這是一件非常有意義的事情,為了更好地實現它,再辛苦也值得。歷經 2023 年春節數個大舞台的洗禮,半年的籌備,「如夢令」終於與觀眾見面。

The two-hour-plus production explored the theme of Dreams, guiding audiences into a cultural treasury shaped by Eastern classical aesthetics. Every moment on stage drew on years of dedication — a resonance across time, across oceans, earned only through devotion that refuses to fade.
兩個多小時的演出以「夢」為主題,引領觀眾走進由東方古典美學築就的文化寶庫。舞台上的綻放,匯聚著十數年的熱愛與堅持——是傳承,是跨越時空、跨越山海的共振,是歷久彌新、念念不忘才得以擁抱的回響。

Melody of Dreams earned enthusiastic audience response and media coverage in Toronto. SOLO Magazine published a feature report, and the full performance recording was released on YouTube, continuing to reach new audiences well beyond the event itself.
The production marked a significant step forward in scale and artistic range since Echoes' debut in 2022: from Kunqu and Jingju to guqin and Chinese-Western ensemble, from classical dance to original dance drama — two hours on stage spanning multiple genres of Chinese traditional performing arts and showcasing the vitality and creativity of Toronto's young Chinese arts community. Audience feedback gathered after the show directly informed the planning and direction of the following year's production.
「如梦令」在多伦多收获了热烈的观众回响与媒体关注。加拿大华文媒体《搜罗 杂志》（SOLO Magazine）进行了专题报道；完整演出影像已在 YouTube 公开，持续触达更广泛的观众群体。
这是回响自 2022 年首演以来在制作规模和艺术多元性上的一次显著跃升：从昆曲到京剧、从古琴到中西乐合奏、从古典舞到原创舞剧——两小时的舞台涵盖了中国传统表演艺术的多个门类，也展现了多伦多青年华人艺术社群的活力与创造力。演后观众的积极反馈直接推动了下一届展演（2024年）的筹备与选题方向。
